Purpose of the Survey

A Pre-Insurance Survey provides an independent assessment of the yacht’s apparent condition for insurance purposes. It is intended to assist the owner and insurer in evaluating the vessel’s general condition, principal systems, safety-related equipment and any material defects or deficiencies that may affect insurability, risk assessment or underwriting conditions.

The survey is based on inspection of visible and reasonably accessible areas and on the tests expressly included in the agreed scope of work.

Scope of Inspection

The standard scope may include, as applicable:

Limitations

The survey is non-destructive unless otherwise agreed. Internal dismantling, laboratory analysis, specialist diagnostics, class or statutory certification, and verification of legal title are excluded unless expressly included in the agreed scope.

Survey Report

A written report is issued summarising the observations, material deficiencies identified, limitations of the inspection and any recommendations considered relevant to the insurance risk.
